At the end of September each year, the Yakima Valley celebrates the end of the annual hop harvest, and every year, the party gets bigger and bigger. Culminating with Fresh Hop Ale Festival on September 30th, Fresh Hop Beer Week has become a multi-day celebration of hop harvest, the brewing industry and all things beer. Here’s a full list of all the many events going on, so grab a glass and get ready to party!
Fresh Hop Beer Week kicks off at Bale Breaker Brewing with their release of Piled High IPA. They were even nice enough to say they’ll fill up some special 12 liter Fresh Hop Beer Week bottles that will be opened up with a saber to kick off the celebration!
If you visited Yakima in the early 2000’s, you might remember Pete’s Night Club, which is now the Second Street Grill. Well the owners of Second Street are bringing Pete’s famous 80’s night back for one night only! Enjoy drink specials, the best 80’s music, dance competitions, prizes and more!
Bron Yr Aur is the perfect setting at the foot of the cascades from adults and kids to play. Bron Yr Aur will be releasing their fresh hop beer and serving up the best pizza in the valley. Everyone is welcome to the yard games, and there are chances to win Fresh Hop Ale Festival prizes. There will also be a movie outside starting at dusk for the kids.
In honor of Fresh Hop Beer Week and Fresh Hop Ale Festival, Crafted is excited to host a BEER FEAST with Bale Breaker Brewing Company, Crafted’s kitchen crew and Bale Breaker’s brewing team will collaborate on a family-style dinner alongside a fun selection of Bale Breaker beers. Both the chef and the brewer will be in attendance to talk about the food and the beers throughout the meal. The meal begins at 6:00pm and is $100/person, including six Bale Breaker beers.

100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall @ Bills Place
Bill’s Place will feature 100 bottles of beer on their wall. This is your chance to try 100 different rare bottles you won’t typically see in Yakima. Dinner will be available, featuring hop-infused BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. The event will also feature a vertical tasting of Deschutes Brewery’s Abyss 2009-2016 and several others.

The Pub hosts Cowiche Creek Brewing Company for a beer & brat social in their game room. The social will include four beers, beer-inspired appetizers, a free Beer Week glass and a make your own brat station!
Using Redifer Brewing as your homebase, visit local downtown businesses to get to take back to Redifer by 7 PM for drawings for Redifer & Fresh Hop swag, discounted $4 beers, lots of prizes and giveaways, stroll down town, family friendly, outside food welcome.
Hop on the party bus for an entertaining ride to Hopsteiner’s newest ranch in Mabton, WA. You’ll walk the field to learn about hop breeding, growing and harvesting, followed by a guided tour of the picking machine and kilns. Finally, you’ll participate in hop sensory evaluation by examining new and experimental varieties. Relax and enjoy tasty brews, dinner and yard games for the rest of the evening. This is an exclusive field-to-glass experience that you won’t want to miss!
Craft Brewer’s Dinner at Berchman’s Brewing

Join Apple Tree Golf Course as they host brewers from around the Northwest for a tasting and golf experience like no other. This is nine hole, three club, two-person scramble golf tournament on Apple Tree’s back nine. A beer station will be present at each hole, with a different craft beer for you to try. Each golfer will get a free stainless steel beer glass and nine beer script, compliments of McCown Crafted.
This once-in-a-lifetime evening will center around the release of nearly 20 fresh hop beers from brewers around the Northwest!
