There are exciting new developments in the Yakima Valley for 2018. If you haven’t visited in a while there are lots of new restaurants, breweries, wineries, and hotels in the works! Look for these businesses the next time you are in the Yakima Valley.
Gasperetti’s Gourmet Restaurant an icon in Yakima for over 50 years, will undergo a new beginning with a partnership with Graham Snyder, owner of Cowiche Canyon Kitchen & Icehouse Bar) In early 2018 the restaurant at 1013 North 1st St. will be completely remodeled and the menu will be reworked in the high standard, traditions and values of John Gasperetti and Brad Patterson.
Norm’s – is a new bar and restaurant in the newly renovated and historic Lund Building, Steve Habecker, a former Seattle restaurant owner brings his, “kicked up a notch” pub fare to Downtown Yakima. Keeping the character and warmth of the building, there are also plans to put in a retracting door to open into new outdoor seating area. Habecker previously owned Norm’s in the Fremont Area of Seattle before moving to Yakima.
Wahluke Building, – Downtown Yakima. A completely reconstructed 6,000-square-foot building featuring a cocktail lounge, 14 seat reservation-only restaurant, a commercial bakery and events center. Officially opening January 6, 2018.
Provisions Restaurant and Market, 2710 Terrace Heights Drive. Yakima’s newest chef-driven, Pacific Northwest inspired restaurant. Features scratch recipes, regional craft beer, and global wines. Open now, serving brunch, lunch and dinner.
Yakima Craft Brewing – Grand Opening of the new 8000 sq ft expansion, January 13, 2018 at 5pm. For an exclusive preview, they will be having a mug club event January 12th! If you aren’t part of the mug club and want to be one of the first to see the new taproom, sign up at the taproom!
Single Hill Brewing, 102 N. Naches Ave. in Downtown Yakima, is planning on opening in the summer of 2018. The brewery has been a longtime dream for owners Ty Paxton and Zach Turner. This will make 4 breweries within walking distance in Downtown Yakima; Hop Nation, Berchmans, Redifer and Single Hill.
Valley Brewing has opened its microbrewery and tasting room at 3215 River Rd, Yakima. A brewery founded by three best friends with a passion for craft and a love for beer.
Wandering Hop Taproom, 508 N 20th Ave.,Yakima, WA. Officially (and secretly) opened their doors on September 22nd. Currently they operate a 3.5bbl brewhouse for staple beers and a 1/2bbl pilot system for experimental brews. Expected to grow substantially with the completion of the main brewhouse.
Varietal Beer Co. Brewery & Taproom. 416 E. Edison Ave., Sunnyside, WA. The building is currently being renovated by the Port of Sunnyside to function as a craft beverage incubator. Opening in early 2018.
Naches Heights Vineyards wines can be tasted daily at a their new location in Downtown Yakima at 111 S. 2nd Street. This is the location of the new wine tasting bar inside Kameo Flower Shop. Open daily 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect expanded hours for announced special events.
Covet Cellars will open at the Agate Field Winery location in the Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail, Zillah, WA. Agate Field owners retired in 2017. Covet Cellars will be open for Red Wine & Chocolate in 2018.
Co Dinn Cellars, Sunnyside, WA. New winery located in historic 1930’s art deco inspired building that was home to the Sunnyside Water Department and the town’s two wells. The winemaker, Co Dinn, spent 17 years working for Hogue Cellars eventually becoming Head Winemaker there.
Best Western Plus, the Inn at Horse Heaven Prosser, WA recently completed a major hotel remodel which included landscaping. Located steps away from Vintners Village, with a dozen wineries in two blocks to enjoy wine tasting. Indoor pool, pet friendly, complimentary breakfast, ADA accessible, free parking, laundry and business center.
Holiday Inn Express, 680 Wine Country Rd, Prosser, WA. Newly completed hotel features indoor pool, outdoor grill and covered patio. Hotel is located close to Vintners Village where you can taste the distinctive wines of the Yakima Valley. Fitness center and guest laundry are available 24 hours.
My Place Hotel 21 S.18th St., Yakima, WA. This is an extended–stay 64-room, three-story located along the Yakima Greenway next to the Yakima River. It is expected to be completed in January. The hotel is taking advance reservations on their website.
Holiday Inn Express, Ahtanum Ridge Business Park, Union Gap, WA. Expected opening in 2018. Location is close to the new Sozo Sports facility. Once the Holiday Inn Express opens in Union Gap, the Holiday Inn Express in Yakima will become a Red Roof Inn.
