Yes, our Yakima Valley wineries are open in the winter! You’ll find numerous wineries open year-round featuring great wine and special events.
The Yakima Valley’s signature winter wine event, Red Wine & Chocolate is coming soon, on Presidents Day Weekend. Mark your calendar, February 15-18, for this very popular, delectable chocolate and wine pairing weekend!
Until then, there are loads of other wine country events to enjoy. The live music scene is going strong every Friday and Saturday evening at Kana Winery. Enjoy live music and special painting classes at Antolin Cellars. On First Friday of every month you’ll also find live music at at Gilbert Cellars and other venues in Downtown Yakima. Silver Lake Winery in the Rattlesnake Hills is offering complementary wine tasting every Thursday through Sunday from 12 to 4 pm through the month of January. Every Sunday in Prosser at Milbrandt Winery enjoy happy hour from 2 to 5 pm, with discounts on wine by the glass and $3 off small plates.

Vineyard tours every Sunday at Paradisos del Sol Vineyard with wine tasting: Visit four vineyards with master winegrower, Paul Vandenberg, where the owner of Paradisos del Sol Winery will discuss management strategies, including zero use of pesticides. Your tour ends with a wine tasting including a small plate of tasting bites. On Sundays at 9 am they offer $20 group and student rates. River Valley Cheese-Brie Experience with Desert Wind Winery: Guests will participate in learning the critical steps of making Brie and bake three different Bries to eat in class. Each guest receives a recipe sheet and a Brie from France to take home. Class includes one glass of Desert Wind Wine of your choice. 1/24/2019.
Wine 201 at Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center: Attend this informative beginner class. In this hour you’ll learn all the basics you need to know to sound like a wine expert. You’ll enjoy three samples of wine, small bites to explore food pairing, gain some knowledge, and will receive a $1 tasting coupon for the main tasting area and a 10% bottle discount on any purchases you make. Art Opening at Hedges Family Estate Featuring Karen Powers: Hedges Family Estate in partnership with Cyber Art 509 hosts monthly art exhibits with openings the first Saturday of the month. Karen Powers will be the Feature Artist in February. Meet the artist and enjoy a glass of wine while you view her work in the tasting room. 2/2/2019.
The Wet Palette Paint Parties: 3D Dreamcatchers at Wilridge Vineyard, Winery & Distillery Fun, stress-free painting parties using watercolors. A paint party studio where art meets entertainment! Absolutely NO experience necessary. All the art supplies needed are supplied for this evening of painting which often turns into a full-fledged party! Sipping allowed and laughter is encouraged. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages and food will be available for purchase at an additional cost from the winery.
